Fortunately/Unfortunately with Room 5

ideafm.files.wordpress.com
We read Fortunately by Remy Charlip, a story that follows Ned through a series of plot complications and resolutions.

Then we wrote our own version as a class ... the kids much preferred coming up with the "unfortunately" parts!

One day a boy got a call from his friend to come over for a pool party.

Unfortunately, it was on the other side of the world.

Fortunately, he took a train.

Unfortunately, there was a bomb that exploded him back to where he started.

Fortunately, he knew how to fly with ducks.

Unfortunately, the ducks didn't let him fly with them.

Fortunately, his brother gave him a ride in his car.

Unfortunately, he didn't have a driver's license.

Fortunately, they had a ticket to the airport in his bag.

Unfortunately, the plane crashed, and they fell into the ocean.

Fortunately, a Disney cruise ship was going across the ocean and gave them a ride.

Unfortunately, the boy fell off the boat.

Fortunately, his dad had a spare speedboat.

Unfortunately, a shark popped the boat and ate them.

Fortunately, the boy cut his way out of the shark.

Unfortunately, a wire fell on the shark and exploded it.

Fortunately, he was almost at the party.

Unfortunately, his friend cancelled the pool party, and the boy had to go all the way back home.
